ELECTION NOTIFICATION – 2026
As per the constitution and bylaws of the Indian Psychiatric Society – Telangana State Branch (IPS-TSB), the election process for the following posts will be conducted for the year 2026-2027.
Vacant Positions:
1. Vice President-cum-President Elect (1)
2. Executive Council Members (10) (3 positions reserved for women members)
Eligibility Criteria :
1. Vice President-cum-President Elect – Must be a Fellow of IPS (National) for at least 5 years & Member of IPSTSB and should have served as an office bearer or as an organizing secretary of the IPS-TSB Annual Conference/CME/P.G. Training Program.
2. Executive Council Members must be a Life Regular Member of IPS (National) and IPS-TSB for at least 2 years as of January 1, 2026.
Election Schedule:
• Notification & Call for Nominations: March 1, 2026.
• Last Date for Receiving Nominations: March 31, 2026.(Only by Speed Post/Registered Post – Courier will not be accepted)
• Scrutiny of Nominations: By April 15, 2026.
• Last Date for Withdrawal of Nominations: May 5,2026.
• Dispatch of Postal Ballots: May 20, 2026.( if election is necessary )
• Last Date for Receipt of Postal Ballots: June 5, 2026. (Ballots received after this date will not be considered)
• In-Person Voting at Annual Conference: June 20th( Saturday), 2026.(11:00 AM – 1:00 PM) at IPS-TSB Annual Conference, Hyderabad.
• Counting of Votes & Declaration of Results: 20th June( Saturday),2026. Before the AGBM.
Nomination Process:
1. Nomination forms must be submitted in a sealed envelope mentioning “Nomination for the post of __” on the cover.
2. The nomination must be proposed and seconded by two Fellows of IPS (National).
3. The nominee must submit:
• A signed declaration agreeing to abide by the rules and regulations of IPS-TSB.
• A brief bio-data (100 words max) and a recent passport-size photograph.
• IPS (National) and IPS-TSB Membership Numbers.
4. Nominations must be sent by Speed Post/Registered Post only to:

Election Guidelines:
• No canvassing in any form (email, SMS, WhatsApp, bulk mail, courier, or meetings) will be allowed. Violation will lead to disqualification.
• Eligible voters who do not receive postal ballots can vote in person at the Annual Conference.
• Voters must carry a valid government-issued photo ID for in-person voting.
• The decision of the Returning Officer will be final in case of any disputes.
